Home Sweet Home

Greetings! If you have been reading Paris Atelier you will know that I dream/ache to buy our own little slice of French property. I came very close this last year to making that dream a reality, but it did not happen {yet}. I have not given up the dream. When my husband and I are retired and our son has grown up I vow to be  living the dream in France! So today as I was looking at apartments in Paris, as I do every morning with tea. I just happened upon this little gem in Versailles. It could be my own personal Petite Trianon. This is not in our price range but a girl can dream. It took my breath away! Enjoy!

This amazing mid nineteenth century home directly overlooks the Parc of Versailles and is offered by Sotheby's.

A simple addition of chandeliers dripping in Crystal and this could be my home!

10 bedrooms, 10,807 square feet, a spa/hot tub, private gym, and indoor pool, a sauna, & hammam. Yes, I would say that is livable ;)

The outside has a guest house, an orchard, a well to water with, and a garden shelter.

Did I mention that the home sits right in front of the Chateau? I can only imagine who has lived here and the soirées that these walls have seen.

  2. Well, this is just gorgeous!! But do you think it might be too small? I guess you'll just have to adjust to living in a little cottage. LOL This is truly beautiful. I hope your dreams come true!!

  3. Judith,

The city of Versailles is full of charming homes, and this chateau is gorgeous! The garden/grounds alone would make me happy!

I too have a dream of living in France with my family-even if only for a year or two.

    Yes, a girl can dream!

  4. It does look completely perfect, Judy! I'm sure your dream will come true. Seems we all would love a place in France!

  5. Really DREAMY,and absolutely gorgeous home:-)))*

  6. We are sharing the same dream, I cannot wait until my sons finally become independent and I can start living in between countries. I would love a little "cabanon" on Cap Ferret on the Atlantic coast, but that little cabanon would go for a couple of millions Euros, a small village house with a huge garden in the South of France...i abandoned the idea of a house in the Provence country side because of the high risks of robbery when the house is empty. I rent my house in the South west of France , since I go and visit my parents almost every month there, it is really too close to home, no excitement... i missed so many opportunities when the dollars was king... now it is a struggle to find the perfect affordable real Estate. A flat in Paris? near Rue de l'University...a dream

  7. I agree that it is a little on the small side and think that you should look for somthing bigger :-)
