Bonjour my friends! I don't know if I've been cooped up too long (from being sick) or it's been so long since I've been back to France, or what, but I have an overwhelming desire to sell everything we have, pack up the family, and just move to France. I'm not kidding, I am seriously thinking about it! It's always been my dream to live there.
When I was in college, I went to Paris to study for a semester through my school and I fell in love with the people, the culture, the beauty, the way of life. I didn't come home for three years (except for holidays and such). Then, I had to come home for family reasons and had the opportunity to go back 5 years ago with a great job opportunity but my Mother had just passed away and I just couldn't leave my Dad alone. So, now what...I found this great place :) It's only a dream but what a lovely dream!
The floors are spectacular and the walls are amazing!

So beautiful! It is a fun dream - I have the same one - pack up and off we go. Maybe someday! My daughter (who is 11) told us she wants to teach Kindergarten in France after she's done with college, so maybe we'll go with her!!
ReplyDeleteI Want To Wear A Ball Gown !!!! You'll do it someday .
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the stuff that dreams are made of. Where did you find this jewel?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I love the floors in every room, the staircase, and the ceiling heights!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful space Judith! The flooring alone is spectacular. You're a very caring daughter for postponing your dream to live in Paris for your Father. Paris will always be there.

Seriously are you planning to move into that house?
ReplyDeleteThat’s such good news! But by aware ! … I’ve been living in chateau all my life , it’s not so cozy practical and nnneeeeeeeddddd all the time something costly .
The good news is, after sometime, you become an expert plumber, carpenter, gardener, painter, historian (you already are) wading planer, hotel manager for friends, and you have no idea what is happening outside the gate of your domain except that it is the 21 century and it is none of your concern.
Beside, a chateau never belongs to you, you belong to him, he is here before you and will remain after you, and it’s a greaaat privilege to be at service of such vibrating place.
I hop you dream come true
This property is gorgeous- dreams do come true, sometimes just not on our own calender, but, they do come true! I did just as you described, packed the fam and moved to France nearly 4 years ago....yes, it is wonderfully different for all the right reasons but,it is also challenging - especially missing family! Beware looking at beautiful properties in France was the clincher for me!!! Have a blissful day! love your blog!
ReplyDeleteDreams do come true, xv.

I hope your chateau dream comes true and you write about the experience. I just love narratives about life changes and I'm sure yours would be an interesting read. Warm, elegant, insightful.
